In 1989, in response to requests from people who wanted to learn both more about our style of drumming and something about our wider approach to life and music-making, we established the 4-day Kodo Juku as our main type of drum workshop. Held up to four times a year in an isolated school building on the rugged coast of the island it provides an introduction to the physical training and approach to drumming that is central to Kodo's life. Previous experience of drumming is not essential but basic Japanese ability is required.
