After her debut from Epic Records in July 1999 with Eternal Memories, Crystal has made a string of hit singles such as Ex-Boyfriend and hard to say, starting from a collaborative project with producers Hiroshi Fujiwara and Shinichi Osawa, followed by T.KURA, and Taku Takahashi (of m-flo) to name a few.
Third album almost seventeen, released October 2002, became a prodigious feat by debuting at #2 on the Oricon chart and have sold up to 400,000 copies to date. In June 2003, Crystal released single I LIKE IT, as part of another collaborative project with M-FLO, which was epoch-making in a sense that they collaborated in each otherfs single and released them simultaneously.
Crystal had her first tie-in with a TV drama series when she released Koini Ochitara, the theme song for Fuji TVfs Koini Ochitara: Bokuno Seikono Himitsu, which became a smash hit. In October that year, she released Two As One, her first collaborative single with a singersf unit, in the name of Crystal Kay x CHEMISTRY, and created another buzz. The single enjoyed long-term popularity by being used in the Toyota WISH commercial. In addition to the success of these singles, Crystal released Album Call Me Missc in February 2006, which became another long-seller. The album featured single Kirakuni / Together, produced by Jam & Lewis, a prominent producer unit with a resume of world-class names such as Janet Jackson.
Crystal released latest album Color Change in August 2008 and the sales has been growing on weekly basis.
Market wise, Crystal Kay has already released albums in the Asian region; she is one of the promising artists in the global market.
